The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Byelorussia, Mr. Vasilie Sacovici, economical agents from Byelorussia, representatives of eight fruit and vegetable processing enterprises, and from the Republic of Moldova participated to an operational meeting regarding demands, offers, conditions of contracting vegetable and fruit production in 2007, moderated by Anatol Spivacenco, Viceminister of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Mr. Anatol Spivacenco informed the Byelorussian part about the current situation created in the agroindustrial field as a result of unfavorable climatic conditions, vegetable and fruit growing development directions. The Vice minister affirmed that they prognosticate about 400-420 thousand tones of vegetable and 360-370 thousand tones of fruit to be harvested in 2007, and the average volume of exports on the Byelorussian market from 2005-2006 (about 70 thousand tones) will be maintained.
Elaboration of common standards of production contracting, quality, price, permanent collaboration regime, officials’ involvement, possibility of in advance payment have been among the suggestions made by the economical agents from the Republic of Moldova and Byelorussia.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Byelorussia, Mr. Vasilie Sacovici, present at the meeting, assured the economical agents from the Republic of Moldova that Byelorussia represents a trustful partner, and his Government creates always favorable legislative conditions for the Moldovan production to get on the Byelorussian market. His Excellency thanked them for qualitative production, expressing his belief in a fruitful cooperation in future.
